People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care!
You have to care before you can share
How can we become more caring people?
Philippians 2:3 ESV Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.
Humility is the key to caring.
Questions to ask ourselves today:
- Am I/Are We Approachable?
- How do I carry myself?
- How do I treat people?
- How do I talk about others? (Am I trustworthy with secrets?)
If our non-Christian friends don’t feel that they can trust us with their hurts, we may never be able to approach them with their need for Jesus.
- Am I/Are We Available?
- To my family
- To my friends
- To my coworkers
- To my neighbors
- Am I/Are We willing to help those who are in need?
- Taking time to listen
Romans 12:15 ESV Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
- Taking time to pray
- Taking time to act
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 ESV Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
James 2:14-16 NIV What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?
