04/23/17 A Culture of Serving

Ecclesiastes 9:10  Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.

The three biggest lies of the enemy:

  1. What I have is insignificant to God

  1. What I have is not enough to help others

  1. What I have in my hand is hard to let go of

  1. That which God has placed in my hand is ridiculed by others

  1. That which God has placed in my hand has cost me much pain and heartache

Exodus 4:1-2  Moses answered, “What if they do not believe me or listen to  me and say, ‘The Lord did not appear to you’?” Then the Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” “A staff,” he replied.

Who and what you serve is what sets you apart

Malachi 3:17-18 “On the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty, “they will be my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as a father has compassion and spares his son who serves him. And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.”

John 12:26 Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.

Hebrews 6:10 God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.

Romans 12:9-11 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
