Calling over Comfort:
- Comfort lives in an arena of certainty.
- Calling lives in an arena of faith.
- In order to walk in your calling, you may have to sacrifice your comfort.
The Passover meal and ritual not only served as protection for the families, but also as preparation for their journey.
Elements of the Passover:
- The Food
- Dressed for Travel
- Sandals on their feet
- Staff in hand
When we call on God, He responds with a calling.
When we call out to him for our protection, He gives us purpose.
Exodus 13:17-18 NLT
17 “’When Pharaoh finally let the people go, God did not lead them along the main road that runs through Philistine territory, even though that was the shortest route to the Promised Land. God said, “If the people are faced with a battle, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.”
18 So God led them in a roundabout way through the wilderness toward the Red Sea. Thus the Israelites left Egypt like an army ready for battle.’
Ephesians 6:14-18 NIV
14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Has God called me?

Ephesians 2:19-22 MSG
‘That’s plain enough, isn’t it? You’re no longer wandering exiles. This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You’re no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone. God is building a home. He’s using us all—irrespective of how we got here—in what he is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now he’s using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. We see it taking shape day after day—a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a temple in which God is quite at home.
Exodus 15:13 NLT
13 With your unfailing love, you led the people you have redeemed. In your might, you guide them to your sacred home.
